Fine-tuned Canines welcomes new Board and Train student Max, a Standard Schnauzer puppy from Fort Myers, Florida. Max is a high energy, intelligent six month old puppy who enjoys learning new skills. He is learning good manners, self-control skills, focus and obedience, as well as being schooled in both on and off leash training at our facility in Naples, Florida. He is experiencing proper socialization with other dogs with the assistance of Fine-tuned Canines own balanced canine helpers, Shakti and Chopper. Max loves getting both physical and mental stimulation. This smart little fellow would get bored easily if not given "jobs" and challenging tasks. And that's not a surprise. Standard Schnauzers, athough not physically large, are not lap dogs, but rather powerful, energetic, working dogs that thrive on living a life with purpose. Max is learning how to be a good pack follower as well.
Oriole: another fabulous FINE-TUNED CANINE Board and Train graduate
Oriole, the little Bichon Frise male, graduated from our FINE-TUNED CANINES' Board and Train program in Florida! Congratualtions "little man"!:)
Oriole's new achievements (he learned everything you see in these 2 movies during the 2 weeks he stayed at FINE-TUNED CANINES Board and Train dog training camp in Florida):
Oriole's new achievements include learning how to:
- walk properly on a loose leash without pulling
- heel off-leash
- come when called
- be polite and well-mannered in various situations
- be quiet and not bark, squeak and vocalize all the time
- have nice manners at the door (and remain quiet when the door bell rings)
- enjoy exercise and use a treadmill (Oriole absolutely loves it now and cannot wait to jump on it and trot)
- go to a place on command
- go to a crate on command
- stay on command (including a long stay when he cannot see a handler)
- do some fun agility exercises such as hoop jumping and obstacle jumping, jumping up on a place, etc
- play some new fun games
- be well-mannered in public places with lots of distractions (smells, noises, people, other dogs), etc.
- feel confident about himself
- feel relaxed and confident around his newly adopted "brother" (a Labradoodle)
Oriole also enjoyed socializing in public places and also with other dogs.
He stayed with us longer after his Board and Train to work on some anxiety issues (including car anxiety) and he did wonderful with that as well! Here's a photo and a short movie clip showing Oriole in a car after we worked on his car anxiety:
We are really thrilled that we were able to assist this sweet, affectionate, gentle, loving "little guy" in developing his skills and potential (he's got so much potential!). We're gonna miss this little one and we're wishing him and his fantastic family many new successes!
Welcoming new canine Board and Train student ORIOLE
Yesterday, another canine student joined FINE-TUNED CANINES Board and Train program. Our new student is a 7 year old Bichon Frise male dog and his name is Oriole.
Oriole did not have any previous training and is ready for some new mental challenges and for broadening his intellectual horizons.
Oriole's already learning new skills and he met his canine faculty as well: professor Shakti and professor Chopper. :)
Oriole's major fields of study include "good manner-ology", the "art of loose leash walking" and the "philosophy of barkless living", but this smart little guy's accomplishments will quite likely exceed all expectations.
Remember: it is NEVER too late to start training your dog! Dogs learn their whole lives, just like humans. Proper canine education is a chance for your dog to develop his or her potential and talents.
We are very excited about getting to know Oriole's sparkly personality and assisting him in discovering his talents.
Movie update about Oriole's progress....The training is ongoing...More updates coming soon. Stay fine-tuned!

Returning canine client is enjoying FINE-TUNED CANINES Board and Brush-up program!
One of our brilliant students, Brodie (we actually nicknamed him Brodie the Brilliant because he's such a smart and attentive dog), a Golden Retriever male, is enjoying himself at FINE-TUNED CANINES Board and Brush up program! We're always happy to welcome back our graduate students and observe that the results of the previous teamwork between dog owners, dog and trainer are still in evidence even months after graduation from our Board and Train dog training camp.
Brodie is a joy to have around. He remembers everything he learned here and his owners have done a fabulous job maintaining his skills. Brodie also is very pleased to be reunited with his good canine friends, Shakti and Chopper, and continues to add to his social experiences as well.
At our Board and Brush up (and also Board and Train) dog training camp in Florida, dogs learn, play, get proper socialization and have plenty of adventures too. Here Brodie is enjoying one of his various camp type experiences with his canine friend Chopper at a state park where we took them hiking. They loved watching the kayaks too. The dogs are always ready for adventures and enjoy getting in touch with their inner Huckleberry Finns. :)
